FAQ

Honest answers to the questions I actually get asked.

When is the best time to book my newborn session?
As soon as you know your due date — usually from around 28 weeks pregnant. Newborn dates are limited each month so the diary fills up a few months ahead. A small deposit holds a tentative date which we firm up once your baby arrives.
When is the best time to bring my baby into the studio for their newborn session?
Between six and fourteen days old. In that window babies are still sleepy, curly and easy to settle, which is when the gentlest images happen. After two weeks they wake up to the world and the look of the shoot changes.
What can I do to prepare for my session?
Feed your baby just before you arrive if you can, and bring a spare feed for during the session. Wear something simple and neutral for any parent shots — I have a small wardrobe of gowns and wraps in the studio too. Beyond that there's nothing to prepare; the studio is set up for you to relax.
What should I bring with me?
A spare feed (formula, expressed milk, breastfeeding equipment as needed), a change or two of clothes for the baby, dummies if you use them, and any small heirlooms you'd like in the pictures. I provide everything else — wraps, props, backdrops, blankets.
Why should I book my newborn photoshoot with you?
Because I've been doing this since 2019 and I love it. The studio is heated, quiet and safe; the pace is gentle; the images are timeless rather than trendy. About half of my newborn clients come back for milestone, family and cake-smash sessions over the early years.
How do I book?
Get in touch via the contact form or by phone. I'll come back to you within a day or two with availability. A £50 deposit secures your date.
Do I need to pay upfront?
Only the £50 deposit at booking. The remaining session fee is due before the session itself. The deposit is non-refundable but it comes off your final fee.
Can I bring my other children along to the session for pictures?
Absolutely — and it's included. Both the Classic and the Deluxe newborn sessions include sibling and family shots, so the whole family is in front of the camera, not just the baby. As the Classic is a substantial session it felt right to include the family in it. Just let me know in advance who's coming so I can plan the set-ups.
When can I expect to receive my images back?
Hand-edited galleries are usually with you within four weeks of the session. You'll receive an email link to a private online gallery where you can view, download and share the images.
What if I want more digital images when I've seen my final gallery?
You can purchase additional digital images from your gallery individually, or upgrade to a bundle. Prices for additional images are available on request.
Can I print my images?
Yes — every digital image comes with a print release for personal use. I also offer mounted prints, wall art and albums directly if you'd like the prints handled for you.
Are you insured?
Yes — full public liability and professional indemnity insurance. The studio is also DBS-checked and safe for newborns.
